Looking around

Switch searches around for a secret door.

Ozzie determines that something has passed beyond the room, but the heroes aren’t sure what.

The fire element is now the one that is hooked into the beyond. The three links draw energy from somewhere and feed it into the ziggurat. The air one isn’t really firing properly, which suggests there.is something wrong here as well.

A discussion ensues as to what we do. Tol builds a camp and we move the bodies over to one corner. The heroes settle down to eat and Switch takes first watch. About halfway through his watch the doors open and a guttural voice is heard. Switch wakes Memnnon up and sees a couple of the Troglodyte warriors and the wizardy Carnifex enter.. They are suspicious but look directly at the camp and don’t detect it. They notice the bodies, and go to investigate. Then the main party heads back to report the incident, leaving 2 to stand guard. Switch sneaks up and stabs them both.

Althea can feel that the whole pyramid is throbbing with power, but feels the power is being converted to something else. She can feel that there is something wrong with it as well.

During Tol’s watch a lone troglodytes runs through the room and out the other end. Tol wakes the next day and feels strange, he feels as though he is coming down with a cold or a minor illness.

As we head to the door. Tol realises that he can read all the writing on the wall in Carnifex. He reads the map and sees the control roll is the platform

The heroes head down to the control room down the very long stairs…. 10 mins later the stairs stop on a platform, with a turning to the left, it it does continue straight on. For a substantial period of time. In the distance a door can be seen, along with corridors to either side. We send the sneaky rogue on ahead to see what is around the corner.

As Switch gets near her can hear a low gutteral muttering as if they are trying to be quiet… an ambush!

The heroes stealthily sneak down the corridor to surprise the ambushes., who leap out when they hear Althea coming down the corridor only to be charmed by Ozzie, which takes one out. The creatures have strange lightning spears which look like they have some form of stunning ability..they are all quickly dispatched

At one end of the corridor is an empty open crate. Or empty shelves.

The writing on the door says welcome to the directional control room. The door has two slots, at 4 feet and 5 feet. Switch realises that the short lightning swords aren’t weapons but keys for the direction room. It hums and the door opens. It is the lightning that causes the door to open Ozzie realises.

Inside the room is lit with a bluish light, with a stone ziggurat glowing with blue symbols, which causes our heads to throb with pain. To either side of the room is. A platform with smaller symbols on. Between the central ziggurat and the smaller ziggurat there is intermittent flash of blue light, with a tinge of purple. There are a number of constructs rushing around on set paths, all running clockwise, pausing at specific points.. It appears to be in response to the lightning arc.. Around the room are various symbols, which don’t make any sense at the moment.

As soon as Switch enters the room, the constructs notice him and as he approaches the centre dome a blast of power flashes out . He reaches the top of the ziggurat and over to the side. The construct says life forms are not allowed in this room and continues to say they should retreat. Tol speaks gibberish to the creatures, but they appear to understand him.

This system has very strong pyschic and elemental energy. Memnnon follows Switch through the room, and leaps up onto the top of the plinth. The constructs stop, and then start manipulating symbols on the wall before one moves towards the halfling and says you must depart from this chamber. You have been warned.

Ozzie teleports across the room and the remainder of the heroes follow.

One of the constructs moves over to the heroes and is immobilised by the halfling who shifts away as it lashes out with a blast of pyshic energy, the other does the same. Memnnon is hit by the blast, pushed back into the room and takes a whack from the overhead power. The others

Ozzie pushes the creatures away and moves up to get the key off Switch, as does Althea., who gets there first and they put the keys in the door and Switch goes through and down the corridor.

The constructs move to prevent the heroes leaving the room, Memnnon is taking a beating from them.

Ozzie teleports himself and the remaining party members out of the room and tries to shut the door, but doesn’t. Manage however Memnnon pulls the other key out and the door closes.

Turning to look at the door Tol translates the room as being mind control. Althea speculates that something might be in the box in the mind control room…. that the Carnifex might be after.

The heroes continue to follow the path down, with the thief sort of sneaking on ahead. 5minutes later Switch finds the corridor to the right with steps going down, whilst the other corridor continues straight.. Tol identifies that Carnifex and lizards types have gone down and come back.

Heading down the stairs for 10 minutes the party comes to a t junction and turns right and continue for a few minutes. The fabric of the corridor is becoming less sturdy…. almost like it is less healthy. Arcane and nature checks suggest that the damage has been down a while ago, the rocks have a high metallic content and has been altered or treated in some way. Heading back up we can hear beings running towards the team in a great rush. Tol takes one out with an arrow and the others keep coming on down. Memnnon asks them to stop and cease and desist, but they don’t, so Memnnon calls down daunting light and kills another one. Tol calls to stop them, and then shoots the remainder. The heroes listen for what might be chasing them..

After a short while the corridor becomes better illuminated and there is a slightly ozone spell. The light at the end of the corridor becomes brighter and brighter and fills the whole corridor. There is a strong sense of multiple energy sources. Switch is attached to a rope and given Memnnon ‘s shield and proceeds down the corridor. The light continues to get more painful, but he stumbles across a troglodytes body, which has large welts and an arm is missing. The next thing in the corridor is the body of a Carnifex and then more bodies and there is an edge and a drop. He finds himself on the edge of a huge shaft. Inside which are huge blasts of energy for fire and ice and radiance. Across the far side of the shaft is a similar archway. In the middle there appears to be a walkway between 2 other archways.

We head back around to try and find the shaft at the other end.. To confirm that this is the opposite side of where Switch was. Ozzie goes down the corridor, finding it not nearly as bad as Switch made it out to be. He gets to the end and finds a tunnel of force gong through the middle of the shaft. He also sees another one lower down running perpendicular to his. In both cases there are tunnels coming out into the shaft.

In pursuit of the Carnifex

As we open the door, everything pauses and all the creatures turn to look at us….

There are several troglaodyte warriors and some of the obsidian warriors from the undead city we saw. We recall the Carnifex has an aura of danger.

Ozzie teleports the Carnifex down to our level as the prismatic guardians move menacingly closer. They both launch a pulse of light and dark which explodes amongst the team.

Althea suddenly burrows under the ground to reappear behind the Obsidion warrior, whilst Memnnon casts shield of faith and moves into action.

The Calrnifex utters a cry and the crystals in the room turn purple and the key lines of colour also turn purple and somewhere in the distance a bell tolls once. Tol recalls a bell tolling in the feywild, but doesn’t recall why this was important.

Ozzie teleports up onto the pyramid and teleports the enemy around, lifting the Carnifex up 60 feet before dropping him back on the ground.

The battle in the doorway is ferocious, the heroes are surrounded, ruing to buy time for Ozzie to work out how to turn the crystals off.

Switch kills the Carnifex and then moves off to disarm the crystals. Althea calls upon her relationship with the earth and creates a ragin earthquake which kills a couple of the frogs, whilst Memnnon bursts out with the wrath of his god, befor moving to the wall and healing himself and the wizard.

Meanwhile the beyond continues to take control of the room, moving along the lines of power of the ziggurat.

Out of the shadows sneaks another Carnifex and bites the warden in the arse.

Ozzie pushes the guardian away and then concentrates on the crystal and learns that the crystal he is concerntrating on is related to the element of water. He feels that he has got a quarter of the way there to controlling the crystal.

The guardian moves back to attack Switch and Ozzie, blinding and pushing Ozzie into the purpleness of the beyond, which burns him.

Althea unleashes a howl of wrath against the Carnifex, immobilising all of the battlefield.

Ozzie teleports out of danger and regains his sight. The guardians continue to wreak havoc, even though they can’t move. Tol finally gets up off the ground and fires off a twin strike, taking out one of the Obsidion guardians and the crystalline guardian, which explodes in a scintillating display of glass shards.

Ozzie teleports next to Switch and uses his immense arcane power to stop the purpleness, before teleporting back to concentrate on the other gems and prevent the purple ooze from taking over earth element

The guardian spins up but miscues and falls over. Switch races up to support Ozzie and they work on one of the crystal Tol also races into the room and up the stairs to try and prevent the beyond from taking further control.

Althea disengages and starts off but is prevented from doing so by the Carnifex. Memnnon climbs up the wall, taking some damage from the Carnifex and uses his religious power to start deactivating the crystals.

Althea takes another hit and is pushed into the purple beyond ooze. Ozzie teleports over and starts deactivating the other crystal.

Switch closes down the crystal and moves across to hide behind the Carnifex, whilst Tol does some work on the crystal before leaping down the stairs to distract the Obsidion golem.

Althea tries an innovative approach to stop the ooze, whilst Memnnon deactivates the third crystal and heals Althea..

The elemental track of fire continues to complete and the bell tolls again. This is the third time it has tolled.

Tol starts to take a kicking from the Obsidion golem, causing him to pass out with the pain.

Ozzie teleports over to try and deactivate the last crystal but discoverers he can’t stop it. The ooze is now absorbed into the track.. The guardian fires again and Tol is unconscious

Switch and the Sneak go toe to toe, blood flows on both sides.

Memnnon calls down the healing power of his god, healing the entire party and reviving the hapless ranger. Althea goes to the rangers aid and is knocked over by the golem, and starts to take a kicking from the golem.

The sneak Carnifex tricks the halfling and the cleric into stabbing themselves. Ozzie stands up and transforms the guardian and the Obsidion Carnifex into a sparrow and a mouse.

With a cry of fury the halfling charges the Carnifex, hitting it, it tries to retaliate as it dies. The halfling collapses with relief.

The battle turns to focus on the guardian, which quickly covers from its transformation. Switch strikes at the the crystalline structure, whilst Tol repositions himself to launch a fusillade of arrows at the guardian. The Obsidion mouse continues to run around..

Memnnon climbs up and whacks the guardian with his mace, destroying it and causing it to explode in a burst of fragmented crystal.

The heroes fire turns on the construct which has turned back from its mouse, it dies quickly.

Althea feels that the stone of the ziggurat is a veneer and she isn’t sure what is beyond that.

Into the ziggurat

Tol searches around the ziggurat and notices Sabrina footprints, which suggest some of the carnifex are around the building.

On the other side of the building was a small fire and some things to sit on. The barrels contain various things, including 10 sun rods and a crystal, which flickers and is 5000 go of crstylaised residium.

The dome appears to be perfectly transparent. There is also a big hole in the top.

The dome is clearly a part of something larger. It also gives a feeling of scrying. Memnnon activates his ring of feather fall and takes his allies with him. The shaft descends 60 feet, as we go down there is a wrench and a pause in the fall, as if we are gong somewhere else. The we suddenly see an illuminated room, which we float down into.

The chamber is large with bluish stone and bluish light. Below us is a replica of the transparent dome we jumped in from the top.

On each wall there is an opening. 10 feet off the ground. As Memnnon lands, there is a slight settling of the crystal sphere, but then lancing out from the side chambers is a brilliant light, which is reminiscent of the guardians.

Surrounding the guardians are the troglodytic monsters on all sides. Tol opens up and starts reducing the odds.. the guardians fire again and hit Tol and Memnnon and the troglodytes move forward to engage the heroes. The toglydties also smell really bad.

Ozzie lands and blinds one of the guardians and removes 2 of the guards. Althea comes down and notices that the other wall there is a Carnifex, a wizard and some guards. She shoots the lizards wizard dead. The Carnifex retaliates by gesturing at Althea at messing with her mind.

Tol summons his anointed army and increases the defences and attack of the heroes as the Carnifex leaps down to engage the cleric, misses his bite, But dazes the cleric, who in diabolical form. The guardian hovers over and lobs a photon torpedo hitting many of the heroes.. Switch heroically leaps off the ledge and strikes the guardian.

Ozzie teleports out of danger, takes out 5 of the troglodytes and pushes the Carnifex and the guardian into his created wall of fire.

The Carnifex battles out of the wizard’s wall of fire and gestures to fill the air with a series of writhing and dancing flames around the room and then stares at Ozzie to try and daze him. Memnnon strikes out at the creature and call down healing goodness on himself and the charred wizard.

One of the troglodytes hits Althea, who is in Magma brute form, then reacts and burns the remaining troglodytes to death. Switch wades in stabs the Carnifex..

Ozzie’s wall of fire finishes off the Carnifex and then teleports the guardian down to the wall and repositions the brave halflings t9 do what he does best..

Ozzie investigates the crystal pod and acertains that it is a periscope to the outside and also has lots of strange runes circling around. Which Ozzie identifies as various commands as to how scary on certain areas and gain dark vision. It there are commands so that we could see the stars around the ziggurat… ie looking up to the heavens.

A search of the Carnifex discovers some burnt parchments. The ranger scrambles around the room looking for secret doors, but despite his best efforts doesn’t find anything.

Althea listens at the metal door, but doesn’t hear anything. The door appears to be a selecti9n of metal strips, next to it is a worn patch with a bluish glow. She touches the latch and the door opens… beyond is a short corridor and down into a chamber, which has a pale bluish glow. In the centre of the chamber is a pit and a range of barrels and stores. Althea goes and peers down the pit, before dropping a sun rod down the dark, deep and musty pit….and keeps falling 700 feet and beyond. The barrels contain dried meats, belts writing equipment. Tol believes the meats are freshly caught jungle animals.

The team find a map of the ziggurat, whilst Ozzie translates the map, which translates as observatory, one of them is a platform, platform defence reset or pyramid defence reset.

The story of the Carnifex expedition to the ziggurat… according to the plan they had been awakened after being awakened. There is even a portal address to this place. Ozzie gets the impression they haven’t been here very long. The Carnifex a re looking for something and matching it to the prophecy and the rise of Y’hog. The stars suggest that the set are are now aligned. Groups have been sent through both doors and trying to control the ziggurat.

The heroes head off to the platform, which is lit but not brightly lit. Stair case… which goes down and down… and down. After a while it becomes clear that the creatures that built this have longer legs. After a good 15 minutes of walking we reach a door, which

The witch and dwarf disappear into the swirling vortex of the nexus of worlds. The rest of the monsters are dispatched.

Althea explains that she has a long standing feud

It turns out that

Tol informs the dwarves of three axe pass that Gorian might be a good place to meet.

Proteus calls the heroes back together. First of all my friends eat and drink to your hearts content. Proteus however can’t find Kathra. Althea asks Proteus about the comments made by Nouma. He suspects that she was trying to gain power by travelling between different versions of the world. There are different worlds besides the beyond, the feywild or the shadowfell.

Proteus is hedges about telling her too much… other than to say that if Nouma was able to kill Althea or Kathra she would have gained her powers.

It turns out that the Nexus of the worlds exists everywhere, but doesn’t stay in the same place. Douganstahl

Althea it turns out also has obsidian armour, which she picked up when she had to fight her way out of the death titans lair, where the heroes abondoned her.

Getting down to business.

Proteus asks if we recall about gong to Lomar.

Lomar is trapped in a bubble and is trapped in time. The walls are weakening. " I am sending you to collect an hourglass, which does have a mind of its own… it is in a ziggurat which also itself travels through time. Which is about to appear in a place where I can get you to.

The last race to use the ziggurat were humanoid, more historians rather than recorders.

Proteus also puts a dolphin sigil on all our heads, and says that the users of the ziggurat will need to give the hourglass.. it is known as the hourglass of doom, the controller or the key.

Proteus takes the magic item Ozzie and turns the Pride of Dymrak into a portal travelling .

Proteus drops the party into a hot and steamy jungle in Scarthour region. Looking around there is no apparent human habitation.

Tol scouts ahead and finds the ziggurat. Traipsing around the ziggurat are guards of serpentfolk.

The ziggurat is made of a darkish bluish stone. On top of it is a crystal dome hovering about 10 feet above it.

Memnnon steps out of the undergrowth and addresses the snake men. He asks for the hourglass back from the snake men. Whilst they don’t understand him and sound the alarm
.
One of the snakes slithers up to Althea to attack her, she can see that it has an aura of Greene venomous… ness. It misses and Memnonn’s mantle of misfortune shifts it away from the the Warden.

Ozzie charms three of the snake men to go and attack the giant snake, unfortunately only one of them hits.

A wizards snake comes to the guards rescue and casts a poisonous cloud across the battlefield. He shouts alert the masters, which Memnnon translates and lets know what is happening. More snake men appear from around the ziggurat.

Radiance emirates from Althea as Memnnon calls down his gods power, healing himself and Ozzie before knocking another snake an dies.

Switch kills the snake and manages to pull his follow through blow against Althea, before he accidentally hits her, however the snake wizard charms the halflings who is dominated and ties to hit the eleven warden again. The snake wizard moves into the battlefield, apparently to challenge the wizard.

Switch shakes off his domination and in his dazed state charges the wizardly snake man., who promptly dominates him again.

Memnnon’s bomb of radiant brilliance lays waste to the battlefield, killing two of the minions and damaging two more. The deranged halflings charges Ozzie, but Ozzie shields himself from his friend’s deranged slashing.

Another giant snake comes around the side of the ziggurats and strikes at Tol who deftly dodges the strike.. Ozzie deftly clears the battlefield of more minion and moves the snake away from being able to damage Tol.. However it slithers back and tries to coil itself around the ranger, who wriggles out and slithers away.

The snake men and the giant snake are dispatched and Althea spikes the ziggurat with the spike provided by Proteus to hold the ziggurat in the current position.

Word has come to Douganstahl of Kathka’s parents death… it appears it may have been an elf named Althea, not the dragon Volvagia.

Althea may also have something to do with the destruction of Althea.

One of the Watchmen brings news of a grey skinned humanoid

Emphara has sent me to tell you….

Shatter stone and the wintercourtare in disarray. Strange beasts roam the wilds, previously you went through snow capped forests, rather than the miles of deserts that we have now. They are also large grey skinned humanoids…. similar to what has been seen on the borders of Kariemikos and the Fire shires

The answer lies in the nexus of worlds

As Kathka thinks about the problem she considers Ozziewarts and the areas of non magic, but his main suggestion is to go to the wizard’s guild.

They take the head and head off to the wizards guild.

The wizards of guild.

Kathka is admitted to the wizard guilds and asks what sort of creature it might be. His second question is about the nexus of worlds…. it might exist, more likely to. Be mythical…. it is a chamber that may exist everywhere.

The nexus of worlds is the place where all the worlds meet. It becomes clear that this is a fairly unlikely to exist.

Where do these myths and legends originate asks Kathka…. they go back to before the republic, old elf tales suggest they went past it on the trip to Alfhiem. Douganstahl postulates that the nexus maybe near Rolent, where Althea is. Kathka was found near an abondoned tower.

Kathka relates his journey through the mountain. At a cross roads, there had been some seismic activity opening a crack in the wall. She pushed through the crack into a massive cavern, but pulled back before something very strange reached her from across the other side of the cavern.

The wizards return to say they don’t actually know what it is, however it is identified as something fiendish.

The tower of abondonment.

As the party arrives at the tower of abondonment, they see a thin trail of smoke and hear ugly evil voices discussing something they know not what. There is also a crying sobbing sound of either a child or a woman, who appears to be the subject of the creatures torment.

Manzan transforms into wolf form to scout out what is there. Manzan can smell awfulness which screams evil at him. As he scouts around he can see two of the grey skinned fiends, who appear to have removed part so the child’s body.

The party circles round to surround the demons. Kathka fires her slingshot and hits one square in the mouth, whilst Mazan in wolf form rushes in and drags him out but doesn’t manage to push him down. The watchman shots an arrow through the window killing the fiend. Manzan puts the child out of his misery.

Douganstahl look around to see if there is any trace of anything else. The footprints of the creatures suspect they either phase or teleport as they travel. There is also a strong stench of sulphur.

The only thing on the fiends is there large swords. No prints of the creatures are found beyond 20 feet of the tower.

A search eventually discovers an entrance in the wall, which if looked at from the wrong angle is just wall.

The party head into the dungeon, looking back they see a doorway. The watchman opens the door to double check that it is outside. To his surprise it opens into a room with 4 fiends in it. Kathka reacts fastest and dispatches the first fiend. The others are dispatched until there is only one left, which teleports in an aura of flame before reappearing next to Doughanstahl in another flash of flame..

The party goes out of the room, shuts the door and then opens it again. This time it opens into a corridor, where a surprised fiend is standing. It is swiftly dispatched by the dwarf. Returning to the room the big double doors don’t appear to be locked, opening into a large cavern is a large well. The very air tastes of metal, there is buzz of latentness.At the far side, apparently in dispute are three people. One is a hunched elf with a staff, her bearing doesn’t appear old but she has a shock of white hair. There is another elf in ceremonial robes and next to her is…. Howler. The wolfman is now in leather and is wearing a large great sword, he is obviously a guard for the ceremonial elf. Around the room are also several of the the fiends.

The well is pulsing with light/energy.

Douganstahl recognises Althea, but he doesn’t understand the conversation, it is clearly an odd elvish language..

The watchman, shoots one of the fiends and then steps into the room. As he does so the room lurches as if he is on the deck of a rocking ship. A fiend teleports up to him, however he steps away as the creature swings at him cleaving empty air, however the fie from the teleport still burns him slightly Mazam shouts at Howler to ask him why he is here as he moves in and knocks one of the fiends over. There is no response from Howler.

Douganstahl runs in and hails Althea, who replies kill them if you can, drive them off, but be careful of the pool.

As the battle rages, a pulse of energy rings out across the room, there is a feeling of being stripped apart and rebuilt…. causing massive pain to the heroes and monsters alike. The older elf laughs as she is unaffected by the room. Everyone feels less compentant. Manzan crawls across the room and bites the fiend, knocking it over again. Kathka wares over and with a smack of her hammer kills the fiend.

Douganstahl heads over to attack the older elf, who responds with a huge blast of flame against the man and the wolfman. Althea. Over over to Mazan and applies a poultice to him. Looking straight at Kat she says this is for you.

Another surge of energy pulses through the room.

Across the room we hear I will possess the power of this place, one of you two will fall.. all around the witch everything goes dark and then gestures, causing a blue beam of energy appears out of the darkness and links Althea and Kathra, stunning them both and trying to pull them into the pool.

Mazan gets up and moves into the darkness and smells out the witch. Kathka break some of the link but it is still linked to the pool and Althea. The pool pulses and streaks of re energy are now coming out of the rocks. The watchman seeing his boss in agony charges into the darkness seeking out the witch.

Larger chunks of rubble are now falling from the ceiling, she doesn’t like the look of the ceiling she then moves over and pushes Althea out of the way, and narrowly avoids falling into the pool.

Whilst the watchman is flailing around in the darkness, the witch appears out of the darkness, grabs hold of the dwarf and leaps bodily into the rift.

As Ozzie steps through a non-magic

The earth door opens into a small chamber, inside there is a dim illumination, showing that there are 2 people one is a slightly humanoid

When Ozzie entered. The golem ink the room addresses to the halls of Zuna Kah. A vague recollection there was a wizard called Zuna Kah. Who was fascinated by the elements. It is believed he left the mortal sphere.

The collasas.

Water is swiftness and movement air is the speed of thinking.

Water is the first challenge. A huge dimly liit room. There is a long tunnel and at the far is a door.

Through the other door is a small well is a pool

Onto air, the apprentices breath into the air door

Inside the centre 16 squares, beyond them resting on the floor loosely are 4 tiles. Showing the elemental symbols.. the wall behind is a sheet of metal with engravings on it

When the last tile is put in place. They are in the wrong place and each person takes 8 points of lightning damage. The second time they rearrange the runes the other way around and the lightning burns away. To a door. There is another door and another door with a star symbol on it. Further investigation shows that it has an indent, too smal

Placed right in front of the table is a box… a small chest.

In the chest is a way

Finally appearing in the air is a wizened, clearly dead body…. obviously a corpse. Congratulations I am surprised you have completed the tests. I was once master of this place. His own dimension. He sought ultimate power, but in the end.

This is a completely separate.

There were rumours that another such as myself, sought ultimate power by creating a foundary of information. The lost library.

I may be able to help you, cheating a section of the floor changes to be covered in jewels. The gem will allow you to find your way. It has limited. Use the gem well and there are various items 50,000 worth of residue .

The party return to Specularum.

Switch is invited to meet the family at the Golden Goblet.

Switch is surprised to see his family there waiting for him.

Switch discovers that he been sold out. Linda has sold out to the Black Feather Pipeweed consortium…. and we don’t know where Lindl is.

Switch had 50% of the shares and it’s all been sold to Lindl.

Mother has found Lindl, he is at the temple of Petra. And isn’t in a good way. The halflings make their way through the streets to the temple of Petra.

Read approaches a temple guard to ask about Lindl. He is behind the shrine, and has been healed. He was badly beaten up..

There are wounds about his head and face, most likely blunt weapons.

Lindl was on his way to save Dora…. who is the subject of Switch’s affections from way back. Dora had been captured. Lindl was moving.

Dora’s letter said that he was to go to the street of lost dreams after he had voted to hand over control of the company. He was jumped by thugs as he headed down. The big folk had cowls and there were 4 or 5 or 6 or 7. The thugs weren’t comfortable with their masks.

Switch asked who he has spoken to since the vote.. he gives the letter to Switch

Switch gives Lindl a healing potion and offers to look after him.

Danya Radu, Switches business partner comes I and is threatened by Read, after Danya calms him down and Radu tells him he will help, once they find out who has been putting the pressures on Lindl and thus Dora.

Switch heads off to see the King of thieves,…. its the closest you get to a good guild of thieves, but they are not very organised. A lot of the criminality is laid at the feet of the veiled society. However it is generally believed the veiled society stand up for .Tradalirans…. nobody has ever proved a link between the veiled society and the Radu ’s and lived. Something has happened to the veiled society and taken over and stolen their uniforms.

Nobody has seen Anton Radu for a while… and he is head of the merchants Guild.

Switch discovers the Black feather consortium have muscled in on the Veiled Society.

Switch suggests going to the street of lost dreams and puts the artefact on Read and plans to wander over the streets.

Read and switch head over to the street of lost dreams….as they wander through the streets, Read attracts attention from 2 or 3 people.. Read stops by a window and lets his stealthy followers they have been spotted. They respond by offering to help him. He asks about the black featherConsortium. They both seem to have a lump under their cloaks which might be a crossbow.

Thems as asks about the black feather, they discuss things shortly, but it ends in a scrap. Switch sees that there is gong to be scrap and runs along the roof and jumps off to confront his Dad’s assailant. Read takes a blow before Switch can get between the thugs and his father. However Read takes down the 2 thugs and Switch runs through to intimidate the crossbow thug who fires the cross bow and flees. Switch chases him and catches him. Read takes off the amulet and becomes a bin and chases after this son.

Switch finds out where the safe houses are as well as Dora. However he is spotted as the murder of the thug, but both hin climb up to the roof and escape.

The halflings retire to Jamie’s Alphatian and find Danya, where they very generously buy the wizard supper and update him in where Dora is.

As they approach, switch swings up onto the roof and sees one guarding the door, he tells the heroes to be quiet as he swings down and with 2 blows offs the guard, opens it and lets in the family and Danya.

The battle ensues as the family Windchime go to war. Gabriella opens the door to find Dora. She cries I’ve found her, Switch disengages from his assailant and goes to Dora’s rescue.

Dora is rescued.

Count Radu and many of the family are tied up here and Danya’s reputation is enhanced.

Aboard the Son of Amber

We are invited aboard the Alphation flying ship.

There are 12 magic marines, along with the the ships captain and his lieutenants.

A search of the bodies to indicate that the Ebon Key humans were from Ravenscar.

The remains of the old city continue to collapse into itself, with obsidian pylons rising up.

Zorath says “my prince why is everyon so interested in you?” The rest of the party looks mystified – how could this grumpy wizard be a prince?. Ozzie tells his colleagues about his royal background through his mother’s lineage

There is a right royal buffet laid on, with lots of food and drink.

There is the impression over the meal that Zarathustra warms to everybody except Kathka and Switch, due to their lack of magical ability.

It is believed that only magic users in Alphatia can rule. The crew is mostly human, but there is an elf and halfling.

The ship appears to be a pleasure craft that has been converted to a scout ship, rather than a war ship.

The ship is heading towards Ravenscar, but the flying ship won’t go to close as it will be regarded as an act of war.

Zorath tells the heroes over dinner that things are getting worse within the world at large, particularly between Glantri and Alphatia. Since we have been away Alphatia wizards have appeared in Glantri and destroyed parts of the city.

Thyatis has accused Alphatia of an act of terror.

The Alphatioan response to Thyatis was that we had nothing to do with it. Check the news and rumours section for this.

Zarathustra is certainly interested in teaching at Ozwarts in the future. He is quite appreciative of what has occurred there, although also observes that it could be improved upon.

We discover that that there are Mintrad guildsmen and Thyatian ships on the way to find the heroes. The official rumours are that we are in possession of treasure to make nations rich and powerful beyond their dreams. That duke Stefan is behind it all. Which is not entirely wrong

Blood magic is how the Alphatians found Ozzie, although it is not clear whose blood was used…. It becomes clear that Koala was disinherited when she fled with Wombat. Why Zorath has come looking for Ozzie is a long story and not completely clear. It is clear that Ozzie is among a number of ’prince’s who may lay claim to the throne of Amber. It turns out that the current heir to the throne has has been away from the palace for several years. Ozzie sees this as fitting his theory that agents of the Beyond have been infiltrating every nation’s society for millenia.

TIME STOP

Time stops as the heroes are spoken to…. heroes you have done well… and have done great deeds in the past and now. It turns out that Proteus… god of the sea and of time. Proteus tells us that the Carnifex were trying to destroy the city of 8 stars…. or rather Lomar…. the carnifex wished to break open the portals of the city to split the realm and

Lomar still exists in its own space, set up and protected by Proteus.. Mortals would see nothing but Proteus would be able to see it as a crystal dome.

Proteus would like us to find an artefact that would allows us to travel back in time to Lomar, to rescue it.

The artefact is an hour glass, which Proteus knows where it is. It is held in an enchanted ziggurat.

The thing we see in the heavens is called Gorath the destroyer and has been wreaking havoc across time and space.

Why should the 8 gates be closed asks Tol. proteus isn’t sure, but it may not be that they need closing. His wards are failing and he needs heros to help. There was some trade to other realms.

Is this a battle between the natural and the unnatural? Yes which is why Proteus.

Tol has already started on the road to immortality to becoming a god hunter

Proteus is much more important than Halav, and Kronos is above Proteus.

Proteus is aware that there are immortals behind the scenes squabbling about what it means about being an immortal. Alphatia is an immortal in her own right, a very peaceful immortal.

Alphatia has a council of around 1000 30th level wizards, who can’t work out what the problem is. The queen wanted instant deaths for the killers of Toinel….wiser heads prevailed.

A benign voice echoes through the heroes

How do we go about Gettign Alphatia. Involved. Zorath will try to pull a few favours on the council.

Zorath offers to explain to that the council will be difficult to convince. What we need to get people to believe is that the realm is trying to get into the realm.

Ozzie following a useful insight from Memnnon, decides to teach Zorath the ritual of the Beyond.

There is the sound of crossbow bolts cocking.

The sun hits Tol’s Elven eyes as he gazes at the brotherhood surrounding the hole. Switch swings into action and rushes up to the closest person and stabs him.

Ozzie triggers an storm pillar which pulls in one of the arcane assassins, who takes damage from the storm pillar as it shifts in to attack the wizard, misses as Ozzie teleports away. The other assassin comes in to attack Kathka, slashing wildly at the dwarf, knocking him down. The man laughs as the dwarf falters, but recovers.

A bluesy white ray of frost ejects from the a leaders hand towards Switch.

Ozzie senses that another leader opens a swirling purple dimension door and appears next to the wizard, touching him with the filth of the beyond. The enemy wizard lears at Tol shocking him into fear.

Another runs into attack Ozzie, slips and falls into the door to the beyond with a scream.

The battle rages back and forth. Switch stabs and kills the first arcane assassin, before charging over and stabbing the other, Ozzie runs away before getting into the minds of his tormentors.

Kathka strikes into one of the ebon key wizards, which gives, but the fire Kathka has imbued with his fire?

A wizard stops through a dimension door and Ozzie realises that it is essentially a sac of worms and other creatures . Another comes after the brave wizard, swiping evil necrotic energy across the wizard.

Switch and Kathka hear a strange sound of sails creaking and over through the trees sails a flying boat. Tol notices a language written across the side of the vessel, recognising it as Alphatian.

Ozzie escapes through the evil creatures dimension door and moves to stand behind Kathra, as black flames encircle the wizard who warps the weave and take no damage.

An anchor crashes out of the sky, as the vessel stops. Dropping out of the ship jump 7 red robed wizards with wands and fire bolts of magic at the bad guys.

The Wizards are all copper skinned.

An elderly wizard teleports down next to Ozzie and says I saw what you did there, bring it back and we’ll deal with it.

Ozzie dispels the spell and the hapless wizard from the beyond reappears and is blasted back to where it came from by the Alphatians.

The elderly wizard is Koala’s tutor.

Dwarf throwing

Memnnon tries to move forward and walks into the invisible hideousness now standing next to him.

Scintillating beams and balls of rainbow light eminate from the wizard which hurt the tentacles it nitthe monster from. Beyond.

A dwarf flies across the room at the halfling, there is a clang as Kathka hits the floor.

Divine and arcane magics continue to fly around the room, but they continue to have little effect on the creature.

Reality distorts and shimmers across the room, the creature disappears and reappears in front of the wizard and grabs him with its horrid tentacles and then gobbles him with acidl and lashes him with its monstrous tentacles.

The fabric of reality is affecting the building and small parts of the roof fall in, Switch dances out of the way of the Obsidion rubble and strikes at a tentacle.

The wizard teleports out of the way of the terrible beastie and as Memnnon wades back into the battle.

The tentacles continue to pursue the bleeding wizard, which he deduces is after his blood. The creature also moves back after the wizard, Tol dispatches one of the tentacles and appears visibly healthier.

The creature lashes out and pushes Memnnon and Switch into the purple goo… It almost as if they should have tentacles other than legs. Kathka strikes deep into the creatures side, killing it Ozzie teleports the halfling out of the zone allowing him to strike deep into the side of the tentacle before fleeing the temple, closely followed by the cleric, who has climbed out of the purple sludge.

The tentacles pursue the fleeing halfling and prevent the dwarf from making her escape., she strikes at it, killing it before smoothly landing on her feet and charging over to strike the other tentacle, as the wizard also teleports out of the room..

Obsidion masonry is falling all over the room and the corridor as the ancient building starts to crumble from the effect of the various temporal rifts in the space time.

Kathka finishes off the last tentacle as Tol rushes across shouts a heal at the halfling .

The entire team flee up the stairs as masonry falls on the heroes. Up and out of the building. Into the sunlight.

Momentarily blinded by the light, the heroes continue to flee the area. Dust is rising as the building..

A voice from the clearing calls meddling fools you’ll pay for that…all around the clearing crossbow bolts can be heard and seen cocking.
